Description

Watch the sunrise over the Blue Ridge from the covered front porch of this cedar and stone mountainside chalet! Beautiful landscaping, a well thought out floor plan, 9 ft. ceilings, and 2 living rooms complete with gas fireplaces are all part of this Massanutten home. The open main level features a great room with a stone fireplace, a well-designed kitchen with granite countertop and seating, and a large dining table. The brand new back deck holds a gas grill and large dining table with a fire pit in the center.

New Listing, Established Home! This vacation home recently joined TripForth's host portfolio (Sept 2025) after years of welcoming happy guests through VPMS. While the listing may look "new," it's an established rental with a strong history of 5-star reviews. All linens for bedding, towels and washcloths are provided. Paper goods such as toilet paper and paper towels are provided. The kitchen has dishes, cups, utensils, cookware, microwave, and coffee maker. Simply bring your clothes, toiletries and food. Washer and dryer are available for guest use.

Can fit 4-6 cars between the driveway and street parking. This property has a locked garage that is not available for guests' use.

Surrounding Area Downtown Harrisonburg and James Madison University are 15 miles from our home. Explore the fantastic restaurants, museums and shops downtown. The Shenandoah Valley offers many attractions including caverns, wineries and breweries. The closest Shenandoah River access is only 10 miles from the house. Enjoy tubing and kayaking during warm weather. The Swift Run Gap entrance to Shenandoah National Park, Skyline Drive and The Appalachian Trail is only 15 miles away and offers excellent hiking opportunities.

Massanutten Property Owners Association Home This home is part of the Massanutten Property Owners Association (MPOA) and is governed by its rules and regulations as well as federal and state laws and ordinances.
This is a residential community - please respect the community and the neighbors and know your nearby neighbors may be full time residents.

Please review the HOA Rules below:

Quiet hours are from 10 pm to 8 am during which time the noise from the house shall not unreasonably disturb adjacent neighbors.
No excessive noise at any time, as judged by MPOA or its assigned agents.
This home has designated parking (a driveway). All tires must be off the roadway if parked on the road. Do not block fire hydrants. Do not park in front of another property. There is an overflow parking area if needed, located at 4007 Peak Drive, Massanutten. Buses, campers, and RV's may not be parked at houses or along neighborhood roads. Parking rules violators may be subject to having their vehicles towed.
No open fires permitted in Massanutten. This is a high wildfire risk area!
Fires are strictly prohibited at this property except in the designated fire pit provided. A spark screen must be used at all times and the fire may NEVER be left unattended. Fire pit may not be used during quiet hours of 10pm to 8am.
Firepits and grills may be restricted during local emergency conditions.
No illegal substances are permitted at the home and open containers of alcohol are prohibited on any road or common area.
No smoking inside the house. Smoking in the house will incur a $750 fine. Smoking is allowed outside of the house, but all butts are to be cleaned up and safely removed.
Pre-approved dogs are required to be on a leash when outside.
You must clean up after your pets.
All Trash must be taken to the dumpsters located at 4007 Peak Drive, Massanutten, at check out.
A minimum fee of $75 will be assessed if trash is not removed.
Trash may not be left outside the home as it will attract wildlife which could endanger you and damage the property.
Trash should be removed regularly.

Other Important Information

This home is located in the woods. You will likely see insects (including some that fly) and arachnids.
Please be aware they may come inside when doors are opened, especially when lights are on inside.
Please note that package delivery is not available at Massanutten homes.
Minimum age to book is 24.

Pet Rules: Pre-Approved Dogs are allowed for a $100 per-dog fee (plus tax), maximum of 2 dogs.We are not able to host puppies under nine months old and/or any dog that is not housebroken.
Pet waste needs to be cleaned up promptly and disposed of properly.
Must be crated when in the house alone. Stay off all furniture. Must have advance notice of pet on property. Cannot be left alone outside.

Note: This home is in the mountains and is subject to seasonal weather and other natural changes. It is likely this home may occasionally experience insects, arachnids, and other wildlife. Preventative treatments are performed regularly, and guests can help reduce encounters by keeping food sealed and minimize light exposure at night. As this is part of the natural setting, refunds or moves are not offered for such occurrences. Please consider this before booking.

Jeremy’s place was even better in person! We absolutely loved the open living room and kitchen. It allowed for all of us to be in the same space without feeling crowded. The rooms are spacious and the small attention to detail really made us feel at home! The snack bar and hot chocolate bar were amazing! And I LOVE when places come with shampoo, conditioner, and body wash! The beds were also super comfy! Highly recommend coming to visit! It’s won’t disappoint!!!

Communication from the host was excellent. We got regular updates and helpful information before and throughout our stay. The house was beautiful (loved the Christmas decorations), and very comfortable for everyone. The kitchen was well stocked with more than the basics, including a lot of extras that many rentals do not have. The coffee, tea, hot chocolate bar was extra special along with the snacks (and charging cords). Thank you for thinking of everything to make our stay so easy and enjoyable.

Beautiful House

The house was very clean and spacious with little touches throughout. We cooked a couple meals while we were there and found absolutely everything we needed. 6 of us were there for our annual girls weekend and we all had plenty of space for ourselves. The driveway is a bit steep and awkward but we had no problem fitting/parking 3 SUV's. Would definitely stay again!

Magnolia met our needs beautifully. There is a lot of space; 4 of the 5 bedrooms are huge. Lots of things that make a trip a little better...great TVs, comfortable beds, a well stocked kitchen. The location is very convenient to the resort as well as restaurants and shopping.

Exceptional property close to Harrisonburg

We stayed at Magnolia Lodge to celebrate our son’s graduation from nearby James Madison University. The VPMS staff was very responsive to our questions and provided thorough instructions for arrival and check-in. The property is very clean and well-furnished, with plenty of amenities such as snacks, coffee, extra spices, paper products, and cleaning supplies. We also appreciated the strong wi-fi and games to keep everyone connected and entertained. The steep driveway was a bit challenging when wet, but there is plenty of room for several vehicles. Wonderful Property

This property was exactly as presented. It was beautiful, clean, and spacious. It was in a very safe and beautiful, quiet neighborhood. Very close to an ice cream shop and great brewery. The third floor bedrooms get a bit hot with just one A/C unit for 3 floors, but I'd stay there again even knowing that. The bedrooms were so beautiful and roomy!Great stay!

This was a great property. It’s nicely located and the owners have really taken the effort to make it welcoming and enjoyable. Great House!

We use VRBO nearly every time we travel and Magnolia House is the best-managed property we've ever stayed at! From the cleanliness to the amenities, the house had everything we needed. We traveled with our 18-year-old twins and two friends of theirs. Everyone had their own room and the kids had a separate downstairs den of their own. Overall, it was a great family weekend and we will definitely rent this house again!

Christmas family trip at Magnolia Lodge

Magnolia Lodge is a wonderful accommodation. We had a family of 6 adults and 2 grandchildren, 1 and 3 years old. The layout was perfect for us- grandparents on the main floor, parents and grandkids upstairs and the youngest of our kids and her partner on the bottom floor. The beds were great!! First time with no back pain in the morning in months! The details of the home are so inviting. There was a Christmas tree and a place to hang stockings on the mantle — Santa came AGAIN! Little ones so excited. The kitchen was well stocked, with everything one could need. Lots of pots and pans, all sizes, dishes, utensils, everything. And plenty of supplies- soap, dish towels etc. And a supply of snacks, which the toddlers loved, coffee, hot chocolate etc. Finally, the property management company, VPMS, was first rate. We had lots of questions, the response was always prompt and friendly, even when we didn’t expect a response until the next day.Highly recommend Magnolia Lodge!

Great house

The home is big enough to accommodate a large group but very cozy feeling. The home was very, very clean with many amenities. The towels were fluffy, the kitchen had every appliance we needed, plenty of plates and silverware and a very well stocked beverage bar. The owners were responsive. Spacious Mountain Gateway

This cabin was the perfect retreat for our group of six. The spacious interior and multiple floors gave us plenty of room to spread out and relax. The cozy fireplaces added a touch of warmth and ambiance to our evenings. The location was convenient, with a short drive to Shenandoah National Park. If it is available -BOOK IT

FLAWLESS from Pre-check in to Post Check out. Property was everything it says it is and the location was perfect. Clean on top of Clean.. Did I mention Clean... Everything worked and the kitchen was more than adequate. Felt like home and then some. No complaints from my entire family. Parents are in their 80's and children are in their 20's. All found the property to their liking and would book it again...

Shenandoah National Park visit

Absolutely every thing about our stay was perfect with the exception of the convenience of having to do a 20min round trip to drop of the trash. The house was very clean. It was stocked with everything we needed. Everything was in impeccable condition. We stayed here with another family. A total of 10 people. 10 people and cooking meals for our families, including 6 children, meant we had a good amount of trash. It was a 10min drive in one direction to drop off the trash. It was just extremely inconvenient. Trash situation aside, I have not had many better experiences with renting a home for a vacation. It was, overall, a great house. I highly recommend it.

Lovely vacation home

Great property! Perfectly clean. Surprisingly so for a dog friendly rental. You can tell they spent time thinking of any detail that could make your stay better. We skied and ice skated one day and went to the indoor waterpark the next. It was a blast! The restaurants 2 minutes away are really good too! We will absolutely book this house again!

We really enjoyed our stay at the Magnolia Lodge. The home was well equipped, and didn’t simply feel like a short term rental property focused on profits. It had the touches that made it feel like a real home that we had the pleasure of staying in. The kitchen was well stocked with all of the kitchenware that we needed, as well as spices. The couch was very comfortable. The bathrooms were clean. There were even some board games. The house was well designed. We had a pet with us and there was a waste disposal box right by the garage. We had no complaints with the property.

Ski weekend

The property was clean and well furnished. We would have liked to see bunk or twin beds in one of the rooms, but we understand there may be occupancy limits placed on the owners by local ordinance that prevent this. We felt that for the cleaning fees, there should have been a garbage service other than us bringing the garbage 4 miles away or face a $75 fee. We had to plan schedules daily to bring the garbage to the dumpster, which was not part of the plan, especially on check out day when we were going in the opposite direction. I would also encourage renters to read the rental agreement as there were items in the welcome binder that we learned at arrival that would have financially impacted our stay if something had gone awry that we probably should have known before we arrived or we would have asked about short term rental insurance. Overall great house and enjoyable weekend.

OUTSTANDING home

What a beautiful, welcoming, comfortable home! The house was spotless, spacious and nicely decorated. The kitchen was generously stocked with absolutely everything you would need from wine and champagne glasses, Pyrex, cutting knives, nice pots and pans etc. There was hot cocoa,snacks, tea, bowls for our dogs etc. I could go on and on - nicest home we have ever stayed in at Massanutten - felt like we were staying at a friends house! Beautiful Christmas tree and stockings on the mantel as well! Would give this home and owners 10 stars if I could.

The lodge was beautiful and extremely neat and tidy when a group of 8 of us arrived. We were surprised by how many kitchen and cooking items there actually were! Although you do have to bring your own food, the lodge had everything we needed to cook and clean. There even were some basic spices and oils for us to use if we wanted (as well as coffee and snacks) although do plan to bring your own groceries (there’s a food lion not far from the lodge). The rooms were big and spacious as well as the bathrooms. There are 3.5 baths and the fire pit and fireplaces were a really great addition. The only thing is that you do have to take your own trash out to the dumpster 2.5 miles away, which in my opinion should be included as a service if I am paying a cleaning fee anyway. Other than that, would definitely recommend to a larger group looking for a quick getaway!

Long Weekend Vaca

Great accommodation, nice size rooms and updated bathrooms. Very warm and loved home. Pretty clean, dog hair on couches and rugs. Found it supprising because the rental agreement stated no pets. There clearly is a pet that stays that affected some family and children's allergies. Found some kitchen utensils to not be fully clean but other then that. Our stay waa great.

lovely house

It was just perfect for our family, and was close to all the activities in Massanutten resort. There was a well stocked Food Lion for groceries and supplies 5 minutes away. The driveway is steep and has a tight curve that takes some effort to navigate, but the house is so comfy that it was worth it.

The house was beautiful, it really coincided with its surroundings. Great proximity to Harrisonburg/JMU and Massanutten resort activities. As other reviews have already noted, the driveway is a pain to maneuver for larger vehicles and the trash is too far, would be ideal if cleaning service took out the trash instead. Otherwise, our stay was positively memorable. The owners provided board games for the kids and snacks that we used for our hiking trip. Would definitely recommend staying here!

Amazing Massanutten Rental

This was our 5th winter trip to Massanutten and the best house we've rented by far! It was super clean and nicely decorated. The house was so well equipped and had everything we needed. The welcome snacks and coffee/tea/cocoa were such a nice touch. We're definitely interested in renting again!

The cabin was great!! It was very spacious and clean. The communication was great, always replied within a considerate amount of time. We never got any complaints or wasn’t hovered over during our stay which I’m always worried about with properties like this. The kitchen was well equipped. They had towels and extra linens ready for use. Even had little toiletries if you forgot yours. The only complaint I had was the trash policy. It was a bit of an inconvenience but not to much to lose a star. I would definitely recommend this property and would stay again.

We had a party of four adults and four kids and we all were very comfortable during our stay. Everything was clean and in working order and they had towels, cleaning supplies and even had so many extras like snacks, coffee, and creamer! Communication was a breeze as our host was so responsive and proactive. There were tons of things to do around the area: we went to mini-golf, a local playground and luray. So much fun! The house was really great! We were three couples with two dogs and two toddlers and there was plenty of space for everyone to spread out. This was a perfect 4th of July getaway because there were no fireworks to scare the dogs. :-) House had everything we could’ve possibly needed for cooking and even extra little perks like tea and hot chocolate, and the rental company was great at communicating and responding to emails.

This house was FANTASTIC!! It is very well kept, VERY clean, and provided EVERYTHING needed - from coffee/tea and filters to trash bags and even toiletries (shampoo, conditioner, body wash and face/makeup wipes). The fact that we could bring our dog with us was also great! They have thought of everything to make the time spent very enjoyable! We were celebrating our JMU graduate and will have very fond memories of our time here! We will look to rent this property again with our next graduate!

The Magnolia Lodge is truly a great place to stay if you’re visiting Massanutten with a larger family. We enjoyed the layout of the house and the hosts have thought of everything. The beds were very comfortable, and outfitted with soft sheets, comforters, and black out curtains. The kitchen was well-stocked and perfect for cooking in. When we arrived, the house was wonderfully clean and we appreciated the opportunity to bring the two dogs in our family. Nice new stocked house!

We had a great time at this home! It was a really nice set up for three families with kids. Plenty of room to spread out, a well-stocked kitchen, comfortable furnishings, and a really nice Master suite on the main floor. Multiple closets large enough to put a pack-n-play in if you are traveling with young children, and there was a high chair in the house which was much appreciated. We enjoyed being at the end of a cul-de-sac for the kids to run around. We would definitely return!

Epitome of the perfect rental

My wife and I have rented many exceptional homes in the past. This one set the bar for excellence! We had eight adults in our party (four couples). The house appeared to be new on the inside, perfectly clean and had high end design, appliances and furniture. The kitchen was stocked with everything we needed and plenty of extra glasses, silverware etc. The house had a great open layout but managed to provide privacy at the same time. The two porches and deck gave us multiple options for enjoying the outdoors. We will definitely return!

Perfect for Family

This property was the most well-stocked home I’ve ever stayed in! The owners really thought of everything. Myself, my husband, my 3-yr old, my newborn, my parents, my sister and her newborn met here to give the grandparents a chance to meet the babies. We cooked and grilled with all the essentials already in the home. We had one unforeseen issue on arrival but the property managers were very responsive and resolved the issue right away. The water park was close by and we all had a really good time. We definitely plan to return and stay again.

Magnolia Lodge is a spotless gem! The home is spacious for everyone to gather but also to have their own space when they need to be away from the group. Multiple places outside to be with friends and/or family - the new back deck was adorable with lights and plenty of seating for all of us to just sit & chat and not worry about anything. The Lodge has everything you would need when staying away from home, we felt right at home and enjoyed morning coffee on the front porch. The interior decorations are just perfect, not overly kitschy but just enough to make you feel like you are staying in a mountain home. It is at the bottom of resort - so you have to drive to the pool & other attractions but that didn't bother us because we really just came to relax & spend time together. We visited Cave Hill Brewery - fun place for kids too. We went to the resort pool and rode bumper cars too. The grocery store is only 3 miles down the road - where we purchased breakfast items & burgers to have a bbq. And we ordered pizza from Romano's one night. The kitchen has enough plates, cups & silverware as well as serving plates and plenty of space to eat together. We will be returning - would love to see the mountain(s) in the Fall and get in a winery visit! Top 3 things for me when considering a rental - cleanliness, close to local attractions and enough room for the group - this has all three! Thanks for hosting us!
