Kips mountain getaway has been my favorite place to bring my family in all our years of coming to the mountains. We have 3 kids, 9,7,3 and they had so much fun the entire time. The home was immaculate and had everything we needed. The hot tub was so heavenly on our cold evenings. The game room was spectacular! Very safe neighborhood. Kitchen had all appliances, tools needed We hope next year to rebook!!!!

We really enjoyed our stay at this cabin. There was tons of space for everybody and we really enjoyed the layout of the house. The kitchen had everything that you needed and the hot tub was awesome! We loved the house and all of its amenities! It’s spacious but cozy. The hot tub worked perfectly and was a nice end of the day activity to relax. The kitchen is adorable and well-outfitted. The only suggestion might have been if the porches had been wiped down for easier use-but totally understandable during pollen season. Will definitely choose to stay here again.

This place was amazing!! We came here to celebrate my best friend’s 30th birthday and it was the perfect spot for a relaxing weekend away. Everything was so cozy and there were plenty of places for everyone to hangout together. The hot tub and the fire pit were the perfect touch!We never got the chance to use the game room, but I wish we had!There are a ton of wineries within 25ish minutes from the property, so we did our own wine trail and it was so much fun. There’s also a Cat Cafe (Aristocat Cafe) that we stopped at so we could have coffee and hang out with some kitties. It was the perfect location for her celebration and we would love to stay here again in the future!!

This was our 6th year at Massanutten. Kips was one of our favorite houses so far. It was clean, well stocked, comfortable, spacious and the location was excellent. We were skeptical of staying near the bottom but it turned out to be favorable compared to staying closer to the lodge.

Rented the property with a large family and friends group and the house was immaculate. Check in, check out and all communications were top notch. We felt at home and the house had all the necessary supplies. The lower level of the house is fun place for games and the queen bunk bed room was the highlight for the kids.

This house is wonderful. This is the second (but not last) time we've stayed here. This home is located in a quiet, peaceful neighborhood so you can easily relax. The kitchen has everything you'll need. And the dining room table is big enough for 10 people. The family room is spacious and has plenty of comfortable seating for the entire group. The hot tub was a very welcome treat at the end of the day. All of the bedrooms had at least queen sized beds. The management team (VPMS) is professional, quickly responsive to any questions and a pleasure to deal with.

This house was just what we were looking for! It has a wonderful cabin feel with all the modern touches you could ask for. It has a convenient location close to the waterpark and other activities. The hot tub was great, and the kids had so much fun in their queen size bunk beds. Everything was very clean. There is also a fantastic BBQ place called Hank's just down the street and they do take out which was very convenient. All around it was a great stay and we would book here again.

By far one of the best AIRBNBs we have stayed in. We use short term rentals about 8 times a year and this was my husband's favorite. Perfect for a Massanutten stay. The home had great kitchen utensils, plenty of room for everyone to eat together, comfortable beds, large bedrooms, fun places for kids to be and comfortable areas for the adults to hang out. We didn't know this before we arrived, but we learned that the owner's only son (Kip) passed away in 2021 and they set up a scholarship foundation in his name. Look it up if you have time- Kip Nininger scholarship fund (AIRBNB won't let me post the link). This is going to be our new Massanutten house to stay at.

We really enjoyed our stay at Kips. Everything was very clean and ready for our arrival. The house itself is large enough to entertain groups of 10-20 with ease. The beds were good and the kitchen was well appointed with everything you need to cook/prepare. On the downside of things, we had noticed on a previous review (month prior) that a guest had mentioned the water pressure/shower head issues in the master bedroom. Although this was acknowledged in the response from property management you could clearly see that the issue was not addressed. Literally almost impossible to take a shower in the MASTER bath. This HAS to be addressed before more guests arrive and probably install a low pressure shower head. But, we didn't let that ruin our time there and just enjoyed the house for what it was and our time with friends and family.

Property was appointed beautifully, and the location for a summer stay was perfect. There was plenty of space for our family. A few quick notes as a previous owner and manger of several vacation properties… shower heads in both baths could be replaced and please provide additional trash cans for downstairs and the screen porch. We're already planning our next time coming back to this wonderful cabin! Not only is it the epitome of log cabin, the extra amenities like the hot tub, gas grill and propane fire table made the outside as fun to enjoy as in the inside. We spent quite a bit of time in the game room teaching our boys to play blackjack at the poker table and they loved the foosball table, as well. Kitchen was better stocked than my own with all.the.appliances and needed items (and then some), beds were comfy and we loved the working indoor gas fireplace. Besides the house itself, the location can't be beat. Being located on Massanutten property and having the ability to book at the adventure park, water park, go go-karting, walk the trails, eat at the restaurants and pop into the shops for various items can't be beat. Easy trip from the DC area, not far from JMU and the closest big grocery story (Food Lion) is only about 10-12 minutes away. We loved everything and can't wait to return!

We so enjoyed our stay in this beautiful and clean home. The home is so comfortable we spent most of our time just hanging out in the house instead of exploring Massanutten. The only thing to be aware of is there's a bluray player that can stream Netflix --but it was a little slow to load. We would absolutely recommend this place to family and friends.

When we first got to the cabin, our first thought was “what an amazing home.” It was very well-kept and very clean. The home had everything one could need and want. The only thing that might be a little negative but really is not a big deal is the water pressure in the master bedroom. Otherwise, this place was perfect for our family. The cabin is spacious. We used the grill, the fireplace, the firepit, and the hot tub. Our little boys enjoyed picking up the acorns around the house. Exceptional host. We would love to make this a yearly thing for our family.

Kip’s Mountain Getaway is a beautiful home in a great location close to so many attractions, and we will be booking this place again! The house was very clean with modern amenities, and we felt instantly comfortable there. We had a minor issue trying to light the fire pit, but the VPMS team sent someone out right away to help us even though it turned out to be more of an operator error. The beds were comfortable, and there was a plethora of extra pillows and super soft blankets provided throughout the house. The hot tub, fire pit, grill, jacuzzi tub and the radio were just icing on the cake:) From start to finish this place and all the support made for one of the best vacations my family has had in many years. We were very pleased with the accommodations at Kip's Mountain Getaway. The property was larger than we expected and close to all of the attractions at Massanutten Resort, is beautifully furnished, well stocked with everything from towels and bedding to kitchen appliances / utensils. The hot tub is fabulous on the screened in porch on the bottom deck and also has a propane fire pit. There is a large double picnic table on the top deck with a gas grill and we enjoyed a couple nights of barbequing and relaxing in the beautiful wooded area. The beds are super comfortable as well as the furniture in the living areas. We look forward to coming back again soon!

A perfect escape away from home. Perfect family environment with plenty for familys to do. My children enjoyed rope climbing, go karts, and plenty of family time. The hot tub at the cabin added the perfect touch to a wonderful week.

This home was amazing! It's located in a quiet, peaceful neighborhood so you can easily relax. The kitchen has everything you'll need. And the dining room table is big enough for 10 people. The family room is spacious and has plenty of comfortable seating for the entire group. The hot tub was a very welcome treat at the end of each evening. We didn't use the fire table this weekend, but maybe next time. All of the bedrooms had at least queen sized beds, which is a benefit when travelling with 6 full grown adults. The management team (VPMS) is professional, quickly responsive to any questions and a pleasure to deal with.

The house was perfect for our long weekend. Great location for us to stop at luray caverns on our way then go to shenandoah for hiking the next day. We loved the hot tub and foosball table!

Beautiful home, the listing doesn’t do it justice! Filled with all the things you would need for a perfect stay. Would highly recommend anyone stay here and I definitely want to go back! Also, the property management team was very communicative and answered all questions

Great wood cabin feel, we had 6 adults and 3 kids and plenty of room. We had enough of everything to make food and big table to gather around.
Cabin provides lots of board games for when the weather is not so great.
This place was very clean, sheets were nice and fresh - almost felt like home.

An incredible cabin, exactly what you are looking for. We stayed here for a ski trip for a few days and this made the trip perfect. Hot tub and cabin decor really makes it!

Really enjoyed it. Very well-appointed with everything we needed. Foosball and hot tub were a big hit with our kids, ages 6 and 8. The beds were comfy and the kitchen had all the tools we needed. Would love to come back.

Great Massanutten property! Good location within resort and driveway is very accessible and not steep like many other houses in the area. Also parking available in front of the house which helped. Very clean and cozy. Comfortable beds. Pretty well equipped kitchen. Fun game room for the kids. Lots of tvs with DirectTV but bring your own fire sticks if you want to stream.
We definitely enjoyed our long weekend there - would recommend.

Exactly as advertised. Communication is excellent and the house is wonderful! If you max out the capacity like we did (10) you might want to bring plastic bowls/plates, otherwise, fantastic stay!
