Description
New Kitchen, Master Bath, and Living Room Renovation! Living Room Fireplace added! This charming log home, located in Massanutten Resort, is a perfect retreat for your group. Soak up the beautiful setting from the peaceful screened porch or the luxurious hot tub! The main level features a spacious open floor plan including a family room with vaulted ceiling, and dining area that seats 10. Additional seating is available at the countertop. Kitchen offers two dishwashers to make meal clean ups a breeze. Downstairs is the rec room with a ping pong table, smart TV, DVD player and Wii.

Futon in upstairs loft area
All linens for bedding, towels and washcloths are provided. Paper goods such as toilet paper and paper towels are provided. The kitchen has dishes, cups, utensils, cookware, microwave, and coffee maker. Simply bring your clothes, toiletries and food. Washer and dryer are available.
The driveway fits 2-4 cars depending on size. Extra cars may be parked in resort lots. Guests may use the garage but may not park in it.
SURROUNDING AREA
Downtown Harrisonburg and James Madison University are 15 miles from our home. Explore the fantastic restaurants, museums and shops downtown. The Shenandoah Valley offers many attractions including caverns, wineries and breweries. The closest Shenandoah River access is only 10 miles from the house. Enjoy tubing and kayaking during warm weather. The Swift Run Gap entrance to Shenandoah National Park, Skyline Drive and The Appalachian Trail is only 15 miles away and offers excellent hiking opportunities.

Massanutten Fitness & Rec Club: Fitness room, indoor pool, game room, hot tub, and co-ed steam and sauna rooms.
Woodstone Recreation Center: Game room, indoor basketball court, racquetball courts, indoor & seasonal outdoor pool, and tanning bed.
This home is not affiliated with Massanutten Resort. However, it is located inside the community of Massanutten and minutes from skiing, snow and grass tubing, ice skating, two golf courses, indoor/outdoor water park, mountain biking, ziplining, putt-putt, go-karts, tennis, swimming, fishing, parks and more! You'll also have access to 30 miles of hiking trails. The pool is a community pool for the private homes in Massanutten. It is available for use by our guests from Memorial Day through Labor Day for $6/person/day (subject to change). MPOA Pool availability is subject to, and at the discretion of the Massanutten Property Owner Association. Tennis courts are also located by the pool. Most Resort activities are available to our guests for an additional fee and should be booked online before your arrival, through TripForth's Ticket Link. **Please note some activities may sell out in advance, especially on holidays and weekends. We cannot guarantee access to the amenities and amenity.
This home is part of the Massanutten Property Owners Association (MPOA) and is governed by its rules and regulations as well as federal and state laws and ordinances.
This is a residential community - please respect the community and the neighbors and know your nearby neighbors may be full time residents.
Please review the HOA Rules below and in your rental contract when you sign.
Quiet hours are from 10 pm to 8 am during which time the noise from the house shall not unreasonably disturb adjacent neighbors.
No excessive noise at any time, as judged by MPOA or its assigned agents.
This home has designated parking (a driveway). All tires must be off the roadway if parked on the road.
Do not block fire hydrants.
Do not park in front of another property.
There is an overflow parking area if needed, located at 4007 Peak Drive, Massanutten.
Buses, campers, and RV's may not be parked at houses or along neighborhood roads.
Parking rules violators may be subject to having their vehicles towed.
No open fires permitted in Massanutten.
This is a high wildfire risk area!
Fires are strictly prohibited at this property and in the community shared spaces.
Grills may be restricted during local emergency conditions.
Check MassanuttenVillage.com or electronic sign at entrance to the Resort for updates.
No illegal substances are permitted at the home and open containers of alcohol are prohibited on any road or common area.
Pre-approved dogs are required to be on a leash when outside.
You must clean up after your pets.
All Trash must be taken to the dumpsters located at 4007 Peak Drive, Massanutten, at check out.
A minimum fee of $75 will be assessed if trash is not removed.
Trash may not be left outside the home as it will attract wildlife which could endanger you and damage the property.
Trash should be removed regularly.
No smoking inside the house. Smoking in the house will incur a $750 fine. Smoking is allowed outside of the house, but all butts are to be cleaned up and safely removed.
***Pre-Approved Dogs are allowed for a $100 per-dog fee (plus tax), maximum of 2 dogs
*This home is located in the woods. You will likely see insects (including some that fly) and arachnids. Please be aware they may come inside when doors are opened, especially when lights are on inside.
*Please note that package delivery is not available at Massanutten homes.

It was a great location to relax and connect. Not walkable due to no sidewalks, but we were able to walk around the neighborhood to get some exercise and just had to watch for traffic. The walls were thin and I could hear the person in the room above us walking...he may have been a heavy walker, but a rug should help keep the creaking to a minimum. This is a great lodge for families and large groups. The pictures are a perfect representation of the cabin, its amenities and surroundings. Our group of friends thoroughly enjoyed our stay while going skiing at massanutten! Only 7 min away and perfect house for us! Plenty of space, loved the hot tub and everything was very clean! After Christmas family trip
The house was perfect and very well equipped. They had plenty of kitchen equipment, extra blankets and pillows, and games for the kids. The rooms are laid out very well so everyone had their own space. We had a GREAT time here! House was beautiful and bigger than what I expected. The jacuzzi was a PLUS. Nice and warm and relaxing. Just one thing though, Guests should not have to take out trash to a certain place if we are paying cleaning fees. Not to mention the place was 10 mins out to where we had to take out the trash. Cute, stylish, clean, and loads of accommodation
What a lovely cabin for a big group to share! We were impressed with the fresh and stylish decor. The cabin has obviously had a recent renovation and it’s nicely decorated too. Highly recommend. Cabin was clean and free of any odors. Easily accommodated my family of 8, with rooms to spare. Plenty of comfortable seating (indoor and outdoor) to accommodate a large family or group of friends. Kitchen was stocked with more than enough china and flatware, and pots and pans were of good quality and size for cooking large meals. All the bedrooms were extra large and spacious. No complaints from anyone regarding uncomfortable mattresses. Bathrooms were clean and up to date. If I had to find something to complain about, I would say to create an easier pathway from the front to back. I brought my pup with me, so we took many bathroom breaks. Great space for AT hiking in SNP

Our group had a wonderful stay at the Acorn Lodge! Four families fit wonderfully - the kitchen was well stocked and the second fridge was so helpful. The hot tub was clean and functioning (not always the case when a house advertises a hot tub)! We enjoyed a local winery and brewery, plus the go-karting and snow-tubing at Massanutten. Cozy Weekend Getaway in Nice House
Very clean. Nice layout. Home appears to be older but well taken care of and no maintenence problems. Hot tub was clean & worked well. Bedding, linens and towles very clean. Have stayed at several properties in Massanutten Resort over the years and this cabin is in nice & easy to acess area. Plenty of parking for 4 vehicles in driveway and driveway is pretty flat area compared some of the very steep driveways we have in other areas of the resort. I highly recommend this house for families, as we had 13 with us and could have brought several more with no problems. This is our third year hosting our couples retreat here. Our group calls it “our” house. The house has everything we need in a space very conducive for a large group. This year, the oven just stopped working. The management company worked tirelessly to have this repaired…maintenance came first, then when the determination was made it could not be fixed —a brand new stove was delivered within 2-3 hours. You won’t find this kind of service on the majority of Airbnb (we travel A LOT)! Parking is convenient, neighbors don’t bother you, it’s truly your own home away from home! This house had everything! From plenty of kitchenware to cleaning supplies, extra blankets, a first-aid kit, and even board games in the basement, the Acorn Lodge exceeded our expectations. Prior to our arrival, the communication was proactive and the instructions were clear. The home itself was beautiful and accommodated our needs well. We found it immaculate. We loved the home, location and hot tub. The backyard is a bit tight if you plan to bring dog (s), but there is a big park right down the street with plenty of room to run and hike trails.

Did not want for anything
Our family of 7 adults and 5 kids rented this home so we could have an extended family Christmas together. The home was lovely with plenty of room for everyone. To call the kitchen “well stocked” does not do it justice. We had everything we needed and then some. The two large gathering areas (main floor living room and basement game room) allowed us to do a variety of activities, and everyone loved the hot tub. They even decorated for Christmas. Mountainside relaxation
Acorn Lodge was indeed a perfect log cabin getaway for a family weekend. We traveled from out of state to visit with family in the area and spent a relaxing two nights enjoying one another's company surrounded by fall foliage and mountain air. Great place to stay
This was a great place to stay. We had a university event here where 10 students stayed in residence with 3 staff. If you're a family, you might be pretty tight at 13 or 14, but we did fine. I would stay again
Great communication with the property managers. We had one issue and they were very quick to respond and maintenance came and took care of the issue right away. I was impressed but the amount of extra utensils and I felt like they provided ample pots & pans and extras to accommodate for a large group. Excellent all the way around
The cabin was clean and well equipped with linens, towels, and all of the kitchen supplies we needed for a large group. The location was perfect for all resort activities. Just right for family fun
Our family enjoyed a lovely long weekend at this house in late May. The house was very well stocked. Having linens and towels provided was a great perk, especially for a short trip. Perfect ski week!
This house was perfect for our two families. It was a short drive to the slopes! 3 king sized beds are great for multiple families. This house holds some of our warmest memories. We just had our annual couples retreat here, 2nd year and counting… without fail it was even more amazing this year than last. Some minor plumbing issues, in which the owner quickly responded and the problem was fixed <12 hours after reporting. No complaints about the situation because these are normal things that happen when you own a home! “Ski” weekend
We had a great stay! This is our third year coming to Massanutten for NYE and we really enjoyed this house. Plenty of room for our three families and plenty of entertainment for the kids in the basement. It was nice we did not have to bring our own dish/laundry/cleaning supplies and the kitchen was very well stocked. We had problems with the toilets and they were very responsive (could not get anyone out because of the holiday weekend but it was not a big deal and they were very quick to respond!). Great house for a group trip! House is fully stocked with all you’ll need to host a group. The Shenandoah entrance is about a 25-minute drive from the house. Very cozy and comfortable house with and very responsive hosts. You do have to take all of your trash and recycling to the dumpster that’s a 10-minute drive from the house but flagging for others interested as we didn’t see this in the details when we booked the house and ideally you wouldn’t have to do this upon check out. Everything about our stay was great! Although we had a couple of unforeseen issues, I can’t say enough about the level of professionalism and care to which those issues were directly and quickly handled. All of our concerns were addressed immediately. Communication was detailed and thoughtful.
Highlights:
The house comfortably slept all 12 guests (5 kids, 5 adult parents and 2 grandparents). All the kids had their own beds to sleep in, and there were 3 king size beds for the couples on the trip. Also, the dining table had 12 chairs and comfortably fit everyone, so we could all eat together as a family.
There was an extra refrigerator/freezer in the garage, which gave us plenty of room for all of the food we brought for the trip. We did all of our cooking in the house (no eating out or dining in), and they had everything we needed (pots and pans of all sizes, blender, cooking and eating utensils, cutting boards, etc.). There were even utensils to use with the grill. The pantry gave us plenty of room for storing snacks and dry goods.
The basement area had board games, tv w/ Netflix & cable, Nintendo Wii and a ping pong table, so we barely saw the kids since that was their hangout space. (All kids were between 8-15 years old.) If you’re a parent, you know how much that made it a vacation lol.
The driveway fit 4 large vehicles, and there was still room for 2 vehicles in the garage which was very spacious.
Screened in porch was great for chilling outside, and if you’re a smoker it makes a great smokers’ lounge, especially since there’s no smoking allowed inside.
No idea the house came with a hot tub…bonus!
The place was so enjoyable it added to the great time we had. This was our first vacation as an entire family, and we already want to do this every year. We would definitely consider staying here again for another family vacation.George - Posted: 8/24/2021

Mountain Getaway
The property was exactly as listed, very comfortable and plenty of space. The house was very clean, convenient not to have to take linen or towels and allowed for us to bring our family dog. All of the rooms were spacious for the adults and perfect for the kids. The location was beautiful and we enjoyed the waterpark. Harrisonburg is not far and we enjoyed dinner out! We really enjoyed our stay. The location is great, 6min drive to the pool and water park. The three-floor layout was so helpful for our large group of families, adults hanging out on the main floor, kids playing in the basement (no adults allowed lol) and babies sleeping on the upper floor. The manage company was super on top of things and very easy to communicate with. The kitchen has a lot of pots and pans and quick and precise oven, which is getting rarer in Airbnb houses. We did a couples cabin escape (5 couples) and had an amazing stay! The space was absolutely perfect, clean, open floor plan, everything we needed there (kitchen utensils, towels, great dining space), hot tub was sanitized, and just an all around amazing cabin home. The downstairs bathroom had a plumbing and lighting issue, but the host’s responses were immediate to rectify the issue and their availability was always A+. They typically responded so fast, I would miss the response lol Our group definitely plans to return for another more extended stay...that’s the only bad part...WE DID NOT STAY LONG ENOUGH🤗.
