Dugan's Dugout at Massanutten

Lovely home, very spacious and has a beautiful view. Only issue I faced was the entry, you will need 4 wheel drive to get up to the house since the driveway is a steep graveled incline. Otherwise, my stay was peaceful and everything I wanted.

The house was good and we enjoyed out time there. The host was responsive and proactive. The only issues were the driveway was steep and had loose gravel and potholes from cars trying to go up. It is almost a must to have a vehicle with all wheel drive at minimum to get up. They did try and remedy the driveway but only helped a little.

Area was great Overall it was ok to stay in the house . As soon as we enter the house it was with full of dust and it was not cleaned and also there was water pressure problem which they addressed after we reported. Major drawback was the drive way from main road to the house and this was not mentioned in the website. The driveway was so bad that one of our car could not move up and because of bad road .

The screened in porch is wonderful as is the layout of the bedrooms. The decor is dated but the house was spotless. The driveway is a little rough and the kitchen was the only disappointment. There were beautiful plates and glasses but very limited pots and pans, limited silverware and no pot holders or dishtowels or dish clothes. Otherwise it is a wonderful location and great layout for a larger gathering

The bar b q was great. That was where it all ended. The beds were very uncomfortable, there were no lamps in the bedrooms so it was blaring lights or total darkness, there were no night stands, the king bed was literally broken and could not be used, the furniture was very old and dingy. The kitchen is quite small and the appliances are from 1980. We could not even fit our trays in it and all the knobs are worn off so you are hoping you turn it on. There was not nearly enough furniture for the number of people there. The place was filthy. We stayed during the highest priced weekend as it was JMU graduation. Now let's talk about the driveway. Not until the final email was sent did we find out that it could be inaccessible in bad weather and that they recommend a 4 wheel drive. We would not have rented this place if we had known that prior to booking. The location was great for JMU events but there is no view and no chairs to sit out on the upper deck. I truly can not say enough to sway you to NOT select this unit.

Pros: communication, large rooms, lots of decks, beautiful setting
Cons: driveway VERY steep and several potholes , fireplace and tv in master bedroom didn’t work, 3 showers dropped, carpet stains everywhere
The company was kind in trying to make it better so after the first day or two it was better

The location and proximity to neighbors is great. There’s lots to do in the area. The house is exactly as it looks in the pictures and was very clean when we arrived. The driveway is very steep but other than this we had a great stay. Our TripForth host was responsive and gave us very clear directions which was very helpful.

Very large house that is perfect for large parties, with six bedrooms we easily fit with 15 people. Very responsive host typically responding within minutes of any message and very informative leading up to and during stay. Only complaint would be the carpets throughout the property are significantly stained but overall great trip and would go again!

We had a great time! There were many activities to do and enjoy and fit for all ages. From the hiking, swimming, playing tennis and pickle, going to the water park and sightseeing, we all had a blast. The house was a perfect size for our 13 people with plenty of space to rest, relax and enjoy each other’s company.

Great location, private lot, excellent property for a large family or a large group. Plenty of space, two large family rooms on two different floors allows the kids to play in one family room and the adults to hang out in the other.
